Paisley Eva has become a force to be reckoned with in BC’s music industry. She started DJing in Vancouver at 18 and soon afterwards founded Dame Music Society, a non-profit organization that trained women and LGBTQIA2S+ folks to DJ in an effort to combat a white male dominated industry and continues to teach to this day.
Beyond her teaching Paisley is also an event planner who started by planning shows with local and touring bands in DIY venues in her teens and now focuses on planning and organizing high energy parties featuring Indigiqueer and 2S DJs, drag artists and performers. She has founded many nights over the night, but currently is co-founder and co-planner of Hotlatch, an Indigiqueer/2S celebration.
Her work is based in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh teachings and all about sharing equity within the music and event industry with her incredible communities. She is known for genre-spanning high energy sets that keep the crowd dancing.
Catch DJ Paisley Eva Aug 17th 6:00pm PST during Girls Rock Camp Victoria’s showcase at Centennial Square.
