Idle Lane embodies the feeling of holding the past close to your heart while embracing the promise of an exciting tomorrow. The Vancouver Island-based quartet channel a stream of influences from the ‘70s and ‘90s and use robust dual guitar attacks and explosive melodic phrasing to deliver a cocktail of honest songwriting. Since forming in 2021, they have released one album, three EPs and multiple stand alone singles. Their sophomore album, “Pedestal”, will be released in July of 2025.

The band has performed on notable stages across BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. Their most noteworthy local shows include FernFest 2022, Rifflandia 2023, and Bands on the Roof 2024. Idle Lane has recorded the majority of their catalogue at Burning Rainbow Studio with Neil James Cooke-Dallin. Their EP, “Like a Zipper” was recorded with Justin LaPointe at Barnhouse Sound, and they have also done a lot of tracking at home. Idle Lane looks forward to the release of “Pedestal”, and to continuing to write, record, and release music that intoxicates them and makes them feel.
